I enjoy a "serious" film every now and then, but i'm old now and getting a bit set in my ways
so when I decide to take the time to watch something, I just want to be entertained...not challenged

I ran across this again last night...SHOOT 'EM UP with clive owen and paul giamatti

it's a movie based on one-liners and one of the best is..."do you know what I hate?"

I've been to the movies perhaps once or twice since my daughter was born; she's a senior in college now.
I'm vaguely aware of Hollywood films but very little interests me. I'm content with movies on cable and DVD.

My taste tends towards "small" movies, slice-of-life stories, often indies and foreign films.
This morning after work I stayed up to watch "The Straight Story" (1999) on Showtime.

However, when I hear the song "Singin' in the Rain", I always think of "A Clockwork Orange"
Same here...

So, a long time ago at our Block-busters with the wife, spotted this movie titled "Fargo", never heard of it, they only had 2 copies in the store = not a high demand rental.
Wife asks why I want to watch it? I reply to her that how bad can it be, there is snow involved... Wood-chipper scene.
We saw Fargo before it became a hit that it did...

This is the opening scene. Should have put it up first.

I saw it, chosen at random, in a theater. It's a good one.

After the opening scene, we were sitting on the edge of the couch for the rest of the movie!

Fargo was based (loosely) on an actual event.

Pity Mad Max was like most movies the 1st one great & then they all go down hill ( not that I have ever seen or desire to see Fury Road)

Creepy movie time! 1995's "Se7en" (Seven), directed by David Fincher, stars Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kevin Spacey.

In a nutshell, Pitt and Freemen are two detectives working on the same serial murder case that eventually encompasses the "seven deadly sins": pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth.

This is a pretty intense and graphic movie. Here are just the opening credits:

Cool Hand Luke. One of my favorite lines from any movie.
I've never seen the movie so I didn't know that line in the Guns N' Roses song Civil War was a sample from the movie.

That's a bit of a puzzle - gives me a headache remembering the scene...
