A couple of quotes for you, see if you can get the movie (and stage show...)

"You're wet"
"It's raining"
"Yes..."
"Yes..."
"I think you'd better both.....come inside"

"I would like, if I may, to take you on a strange journey..."

"It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache..."

"If only we were amongst friends.... or sane persons!

The Caine Mutiny from 1954 features a great cast led by Humphrey Bogart as Capt. Queeg. The low morale on his ship, the Caine, and several questionable orders and actions leads some officers to question Queeg's mental stability.

Here, Queeg has asked 2 officers, Fred MacMurray and Van Johnson, to investigate some "missing strawberries".

Here, they discuss reporting Queeg to the fleet medical officer.

Eventually, there is a mutiny in the middle of a crisis. At the trial, prosecutor Jose Ferrer asks Queeg about the "missing strawberries".

When I lived in Philadelphia you could visit Eastern State Penitentiary, where they filmed the mental hospital stuff, it was a very grim place.

This film was such a good late 1960s hippie spoof that some people thought it was meant to be a real war movie. And some of them got offended. I think that my favourite scene was the showdown with the Tiger tank. It's "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" with tanks. Hilarious.

Regards,
Richard.

So, a long time ago at our Block-busters with the wife, spotted this movie titled "Fargo", never heard of it, they only had 2 copies in the store = not a high demand rental.

We saw Fargo before it became a hit that it did...

This is the opening scene. Should have put it up first.

Jack Nicholson has been in a few really good movies. This is one of his most famous scenes from 1992's A Few Good Men. Tom Cruise actually does a good job as do all the supporting actors, which includes Kevin Bacon, Kiefer Sutherland, and JT Walsh.

In a nutshell, Tom Cruise and Demi Moore are investigating the midnight death of a particular marine by two other marines. They believe Col Jessup (Jack Nicholson) had something to do with it.

Famous for the "You can't handle the truth!" line, I like the rest of the monologue, particularly "And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives."

It wasn't until recently that I realized that Nicholson doesn't blink throughout the entire scene...definitely adds to the effect.

The sparkling dialogue comes courtesy of West Wing writer Aaron Sorkin, Special K.

If you liked that, you should check out 'The Social Network', his fictionalized account of Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg.
