Yes they are. They, by comparison, make politicians and telemarketers seem less reprehensible.

Wait. Maybe it's the other way around.
I think you had it right

lawyers working in my interest have had significant utility and value

in nearly seven decades I've yet to experience that from either politicians or telemarketers

Lawyers exist to protect us from other lawyers.

Just to be clear, we need to avoid discussions about the P word.

Thanks in advance my friends.

It doesn't matter if they are really police or just security officers, there are bad apples in both lots and lots of good folks too. But the hot heads make it a bit dangerous to buck their commands.

Way back when, in a land far, far away that time has nearly forgotten, I was in my early 20's. I had a Camaro (actually still have it, it is sleeping in the shop under a tarp, but that is a story for another day). It was loud. It was fast. It was fun.

The land developers were raping a large rural area where I spent my formative years and turning it into subdivisions and strip malls. There were miles of paved roads with little else on them as the project has stalled a bit. We would cruise through the empty streets late at night, and when we got the attention of the rent a cop in a VW Rabbit with the yellow flashing pretend cop light rack on it we would play cat and mouse with him. I would speed away, then hide in a cul de sac, and as he passed by jump out and spin donuts around his car then speed off to another cul de sac.

Lots of fun.

Nothing like the jack booted thugs that dragged that idiot off the airplane the other day.
