Somebody offered an MX with M 50/1.7 and M 28/3.5 for 35€, but when I messaged him he answered I was only the second person to ask for it, so if the other interested party would not take it, I could have it. The ad was half an hour old when I messaged him. It's been taken down now. I consider this a loss equivalent to having had it and leaving it lying around somewhere

Must have been a hard day to experience this loss.

I sold my second Hasselblad 500ELX body. These cameras are not in demand due to their use of special batteries.
These batteries need constant care or they will be unserviceable.

The arrival of a well designed adapter that allows the use of AAA batteries gives these cameras new opportunities.

I continue my tradition of populating camera bags on the left coast with my items. The latest going to California is a SMC K200/2.5. I just never used it.

well

just arranged to send my KP north to Omaha to my son and his wife

their first Pentax and first DSLR too ( her dad uses Nikon )

now they just have to figure out what lens to add to it

[ it is the one I was lucky enough to win in the December contest but I wasn't using it ]

decided to loan them my HD Pentax-DA 16-85mm F3.5-5.6 ED DC WR

A forum member in Florida just received the DA*16-50/2.8 I got in a bundle earlier this year. Good copy of the lens, but I have a 15, 20-40 and an 16-85 coming. Sold at a low price to keep the fair deal karma in balance.

just bought a SMC Pentax-DA 35mm F2.4 AL and a SMC Pentax-DA 50mm F1.8 from a forum member

the 50mm will be replacing one that I am giving to my son and his wife [ the folks that I gave the KP to ]

and if they want a 35mm, they will get the one I just bought

just talked to my son and his wife about the KP I gave them and the lenses I have allowed them to try out:

SMC DA 15mm Limited
SMC DA 40mm XS
SMC DA 50mm
A 135mm F2.8
DA 55-300mm PLM

they don't want to give the KP back - " it's a lot better than the phone cameras "

and they really like the PLM

they will get to try out the 16-85mm after we get back from Estes Park and RMNP in mid September

I just sold my backpacking hammock (Hennessey Hammock Ultralight Asym) . It's nice enough and light to carry but I wind up above treeline or in the desert often enough it just isn't practical.

That's a pretty impressive kit, especially with the 16-85mm. It's close to my international travel kit - I take the 16-85 and 55-300mm PLM plus three primes (15mm and 21mm for small and light general purpose) and a really sharp mini-tele like the 70mm Limited or the 50mm macro. That is all I used on my three week trip to Vietnam in February - I took more lenses but never used them. Two zooms and the 21 Limited did pretty much everything. You may not get anything back from the trial, all are really good.

[ thanks ]

they are only going to get to keep the KP, the DA 50mm 1.8 and they will get to try a DA 35mm F2.4 AL and a Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm F2.8-4 Macro Zoom PKA ( Komine ) which they will get on Labor Day

if they want, they could keep the 35mm

the others are provided so they get a feel for what those lenses can do to help them decide what type of lenses they might want to get in the future

primes vs. zoom

a " limited "

the latest type vs. older cheaper lenses

AND I WILL GET THE OTHERS BACK

August was big for de-acquisitions. My wife has so far broken $3,000 worth of disability helping gear which insurance won’t cover!!!
I moved my much loved Tamron SP 65B 400/4 with 140F 1.4X and two lens bags, plus Tamron 19AH 70-210/3.5 SP CF north to Canada. A Takumar K 135/2.5 and SMC-M 28/3.5 to the west coast, my DA* 16-50/2.8 to Florida and just took a down payment on the AP I’ve listed.

Another lens I have to say goodbye to that I haven't even had in my hands yet: I had "bought" an HD DA 15 on Amazon that was offered directly through them for a price I hadn't seen before, but it was listed as out of stock and that they didn't know when they would get their hands on new stock, and that was ok with me, but today I received an email that they cancelled my order and it's not offered as sold and shipped by them any more. Would have been my third limited after 70 and 40, but it was quite an impulsive decision after I saw the price and I wasn't 100% convinced that I needed or wanted it afterwards. So unless I see one offered for an even better price in the future, those funds will go to a new body instead.

That happens sometimes on Amazon, it means they advertised it for a price they can't honour without losing money.
