Leaving photography? What are you, high??

Seriously though, my interests ebb and flow. I occasionally write, and when I'm feeling it my output is prolific. Photography is the same way. I find it best to take pics regularly, even casually with my phone. The mental exercise keeps it fresh.
Haha no.. maybe was depressed though. My creative interests ebb and flow too.. big time. Usually I write music for months while my camera gets a rest and vice versa. Or I take up a video game or books for a bit. Sometimes I hit low spots then it pretty much all takes a rest.. But my relationship with and study of God is built stronger in the low spots. So that's ok.

I just spent a ton on Nikon gear recently, so I'm trying out that realm at the moment... Ebb and flow.. de-acquisition followed by acquisition.. hopefully not followed by more de-acquisiton any time soon.

I sold off my Minolta MD 24mm f/2.8 as I rarely used it. That leaves me with 35mm as my widest lens for my Minolta gear, but that's no problem as I rarely use anything other than a 50mm on film.

I blame the OP

since the OP started this thread, I have given away, in exchange for shipping fees, several lenses which I wasn't using to new members who indicated they were starting out in photography

and now I sold my first items to a new forum member

my low shutter count K 5 II + battery grip and a SMC Pentax-DA L 50-200mm F4-5.6 ED WR

things we do to finance a K 3 II + battery grip

So, should I say "sorry", or "you're welcome"?

Yesterday I sold off the extra M 50mm f/1.4 I got a few weeks ago with an MX, €19 for both. I'm keeping the MX and sold the lens for €80, so I'm very happy

Sold DA 18-35 (?) and FA 28. Sold the FA to raise money for the 31, but the 31 got away, and I decided to go for something else. if I win this auction, it will be something quite different from the 31... Either way, no autofocus wide angle lens for me...

I donated my functionally-challenged cameras:

  • Argus AF (Basically a 35mm box camera)
  • Kodak Retina Automatic 3
  • Asahi Pentax ES II (Electronics didn't work, I have a working Honeywell example)
  • Pentax Super Program (Winder is stuck)

Bought a DA* 55mm, took one picture, wasn't happy with the result, so threw the camera and the lens down the rocky path that we were climbing. The camera survived with just few cracks to the housing, but the lens got its deserved destiny.

Look, here is the pic - autofocus zooming to the wrong eye and composition is all wrong.
