I just sent a working Pentax P30-T body to another PF member
whose only Pentax film camera body is beyond economical repair.

I'll be sending a Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8-4 out later today. I've had it for some years but never really used it as I always use primes on film and the range isn't that useful on APS-C.

My K-1 body has gone to a local member who was very happy with his purchase and I was very happy with the sale. So win-win all round I think.

One SMC-A 50mm f/2.8 Macro went back to the seller. The iris was lazy so the images were very overexposed unless wide open (and always stopped down more than stated...)

Four lenses went out for free (receiver has paid for shipping):
Rikenon XR 50 1.4 - stuck wide open
Pentax SMC-M 50mm f4 Macro - minor fungus but seemed to affect images when strong light was present
Pentax SMC 55mm f2 - cemented elements had haze in middle
Pentax DA 50mm f1.8 - one aperture blade came loose

I also sent 3 lenses for cleaning, to Eric Hendrickson. Those are no de-acquisitions, unless something happens during shipping...

I am heavily considering getting rid of my K-3 but still giving it another chance...

I sold my FA 43 and 77 Limiteds to another local PF member who is planning to use them with his film cameras. I'm kind of sad to see these and my K-1 head out the door but they will get more use with their new owners. And that's how it should be - after all they're made to be used, not to sit on a shelf.

Two ash trees lost to the emerald ash borer. Taken down this afternoon. I planted them 35 years ago. Set them far enough apart to hold a hammock. I told my wife that they were to be my "retirement trees". I would spend my days laying in the hammock while she lovingly served me lemonade and cookies. Another dream crushed.

At our first house I planted a small grove of them. They are all gone too.

Always sad to see trees go.

Trees are sentinels, digging in deep, standing in the same place for generations. Always watching over the world, witnesses to everything.

Oh, if they could talk . . . . .

Sent my FA85 off to a good and loving home with a fellow PF member who lives only 90 minutes away. Godspeed my good lens, godspeed.

I de-acquired the last of my DSLR gear yesterday -- the K-S1 and kit zoom. Over the last couple of years I've been gradually downscaling from a bag full of primes to just one body and one zoom, while playing around with various compact cameras and being surprised to find that they gave me 90% of what I needed at 10% of the weight. So as far as digital photography goes, I'm sticking with compacts for the timebeing.

I've still got my film SLR gear though, and enough lenses to work with, and I'm planning to get through a lot more celluloid from now on.

S-M-C Takumar 35 f3.5 with sticky aperture. Now I regret not having it overhauled.

I have both the DFA 100mm F2.8 Macro WR and non WR

Prefer the Non WR because of the aperture ring so I can use with my SLRs

So the WR is heading north of the border to @bertwert

Gave him a deal that he couldn't refuse, he pays for shipping and insurance

I trust him to do something similar down the road to another worthy forum member

I am never letting mine get away. It's just too good. I concede the cost of a repair is probably more than buying another, unless you have access to a good repairer at very reasonable price. Sticky aperture is manageable on a digital body.

It's so bad, Fender has stopped making regular production ash guitars. Ash was Fender's original wood, so that says a lot....

I sold my K-3.

In almost a year, I tried to get good results from it but never could. My fault, I'm sure. I'm sticking with the 20MP CMOS sensor cameras, and the 10MP CCD cameras...

An M-Series 50mm F1.7 went on Ebay this week. It was the last remaining item from my original SLR kit, coming with an ME Super in 1985. It was the kit lens but a good one. I still have an M-Series F1.4 which is actually less sharp according to some, but more impressive as a display item.

Leica M6. It never clicked with me, really; just dont care for the rangefinder experience, I guess.
