In 1974 I traded my 1958 Mercedes Benz 220S Ponton sedan with full sun roof. I don't care how reliable my Toyotas and Subarus have been, that is still the best automobile I have ever owned. Unfortunately, at the time I had two small children, was earning $540/month and it needed the engine head rebuilt (at 185,000 miles, BTW) and that would have been about $3,000. The vehicle is commonly (?) available on antique/classic marketplaces for over US$10,000 in restorable condition.

There was also the time that I de-acquired an SMC M 40mm f/2.8. It was a strange little thing and I haven't regretted it enough to make amends yet.

DA40/2.8 XS. Now that’s a strange little thing.
The funny thing is that the XS is probably easier to grip for manual focus...

I finally got rid of a Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 which I bought a few years ago. It was never a good performer and was de-centred plus it spontaneously developed very stiff focusing at close distances despite not having left the cupboard. I made a bit of a loss on it but I'm glad to get rid of it.

I ended up switching to Sony mirrorless for a variety of reasons. I talk about it in this reply here. I'll stick around on PF, though, since I like this curmudgeonly bunch.
You can always adapt legacy Pentax glass to that Sony. Many people do, with quite good results.

I may be getting older, but I refuse to grow up.

That’s why I keep my manual lenses. It would be tragic if RIcoh ceased Pentax but the K-1 and new lenses would last a long time and the old stuff will still work long after I’ve ceased.

I recall seeing a sticky stating photography related topics were not allowed in General Talk, but I recently de-acquired my beloved DA*50-135, K-3 Silver, and DA*16-50.

My entire 645 kit might follow.

Does trading count? I traded my K-30 that had the APB failure using AA adapter to my daughter for my beloved K-x that I wanted back after I gave it to her.

I don't recall this thread being photography-related, per se. It's supposed to mirror the "Your latest acquisition" thread.

Sold K35... It's a nice lens in a great condition. I bet I will regret selling it... I am finding that more often than not I am gravitating towards the 43-77 combo, and add Irix 15mm when I need something wider. With 4 systems many lenses don't get used...

I just sold (two days ago) a Rikenon 55mm f1.2. Bought it for $100 and sold it for much more. Trying to get a Sigma 50 1.4 so I'll probably be selling a few more things on eBay.

I said goodbye to my last DA lens, the 40 Limited, and overall my favorite. It’s in the hands of an appreciative new owner now who will, no doubt, take many beautiful photos with it.

My HD 20-40 in silver to a forum member. It is actually a pretty good Wide angle and landscape lens but I rarely used it. Should be at its new owner's house tomorrow.

iPhone 4

Replaced my wife's iPhone 4 with an SE. We have a matched set, now. My SE has a WHITE face (good guy that I am); Her's has a black face. No further comment needed. It does match the color of the 4 ...
