PayPal fee surcharges (convenience fees) are a violation of the PayPal user agreement

If anyone is asking for the buyer to pay for the PayPal fees he or she is violating the PayPal user agreement

"Accepting Payments From Buyers for Goods and Services
Receiving personal payments

No surcharges

You agree that you will not impose a surcharge or any other fee for accepting PayPal as a payment method. You may charge a handling fee in connection with the sale of goods or services as long as the handling fee does not operate as a surcharge and is not higher than the handling fee you charge for non-PayPal transactions."

This should be enforced in the Marketplace

PayPal

It's annoying when sellers quote a price plus Paypal fees, often offering no other payment options.

Today most online purchases from private sellers are made with Paypal.
IMO the fees should always be figured into the asking price.
Otherwise it's simply deceptive pricing.

Agreed. I've always figured the fee into the transaction. Why would I expect a buyer to calculate the amount of the fee? If it's a problem, add a few dollars to the selling price. My .02.
