Left Dpreview after 20+ years...

Had enough of their nonsense with the current K1ii scandal and them NOT re-evaulating the camera even in light of them being caught with severely flawed testing. They haven't reviewed a Pentax lens since 2009, and called the 15mm F4 'an OK performer'...what?

Their current moderator Rishi acts more like a dictator, and excuses the from all wrongdoing no matter how badly they are caught out or how much we all protest. Let the Canikosony folks have the place. Good luck to them.

Cheers,
Cameron

I understand your frustration re DPR's K-1II review, Cameron. I don't like it either, I feel it's biased, and I place no confidence in it whatsoever.

For those replying in this thread, can I remind you good folks that Rishi is a member here (albeit, not recently active), so our forum rules prevent personal attacks as well as rude and inflammatory remarks - and in any case, we wouldn't want to be that way, would we?

Discussion of DPR and the review is fine, but let's keep it about the site, not the individuals.

Thanks in advance, everyone

I find Steve's Digicams a more reliable source.

I bought my Pentax K100D thanks to steves digicam. I read their review and found that the camera was exactly as described.

It is kind of sad when you can predict exactly what they will say about a camera before they even review it. Their comparison widget is pretty interesting, but people take tiny areas out of different corners to prove that one camera is better than another and often the differences are fairly minimal.

When I started the change from Film to Digi their site had the most info without trying to sell me on a specific brand. They're pretty quiet now days, IIRC the Steve passed away and his cohort is running it now.

I stopped even going to that site a few years ago, and the fact that it takes them 10 pages to explain something that should take 2 at most.

I haven't been a member at Steve's for a few years. I do check it out every so often and as another has said, it seems pretty quiet .

Below is a shortcut to a crop of an image that I took with my Sigma 150-500 at 500 MM after the lens mount plate update. I was using the K-1 II.
