I don't know if this would cause hate...but I'm 90% sure I would sell it if I won it. It would fund a Ricoh GRII, a 100mm Macro and maybe a few other toys. And some other lucky individual will get the use of an as-new K-1 for a used price. If that has to be done on eBay, so be it...but a gift is a gift.

I think the only resistance would be if the winner didn't try out the K 1 ( or K 1 II ) but tried to sell it immediately

I am planning on giving it a fair trial, if I get lucky enough to win

and if then I didn't like it, I would sell it.

of course, I would have to sell it as " experienced " but like new condition

According to my spreadsheet we have made 2147 posts in the past 23-1/2 hours;
that does include Bert's 219 post "tear" today.

According to the entry I added just now, we need 2134 posts/day to elevate the "prize" to a K-1ii

Yes, even the upgrade is possible if people step in to replace Bert's effort

That is the point. If a bunch of members post 20 times per day, most every day, as we have been doing, we will be in a position where one more person can receive a K-1.

To be fair - I post the same volume when there isn't a contest generally. I have had bursts and droughts but I really enjoy this place.

I record # posts at 8pm EDT {midnight UTC} every day. My figures show that the daily average zoomed from roughly 1200 for Aug 3-19 to around 1900 for Aug 20-23, so your figure is an average of those. Based on the past two months, I believe the rate for the remainder of this month will be more like this week's average than like the month-long average.
