Uhhh..... No!

You can, at least, sell the cameras and get back part of your investment.

I would pick the one that I could find adapters for my pentax lenses.

I'm not switching though.

Already decided 6 months ago and went Canon (dual systems now). Mainly because if anyone gonna to quit the camera business, Canon would be the last I reckon. But also they have the EF70-200/4L IS (f2.8 is nice to have but too heavy and bulky for me) which is perfect for my need. Will probably get a Kindai K-EOS adaptor so that I can use my Pentax primes on the 40D.

id go for the 5D

but really, if i had a fully operational dark room with world class enlargers and world class scanners, and those 1 minute developer machines, basicaly, if i had a shit load of money, i would probably do film.

I voted Minolta just because Sony's really sunk their teeth into the system, which is good, and they have in-body stabilization.

I'm also tempted to go the Olympus route, but I'm none too pleased with Panasonic's sensors as of the moment (the 10MP NMOS sensor), and aside from the E-3, all other models' viewfinders are really small.

The mFT system does appeal to me, though, and will keep an eye on it.

I voted Minolta (Sony). No way am I going back to a camera without inbody stablization. So it's either or Olympus, but I don't care much for the 4/3 concept and the effect it has on high ISO performance and viewfinder size.

Kindred spirits: Leica and Pentax

Leica M8. Misery likes company, or is that company likes misery. Interestingly both Leica and Pentax are on the same spiritual voyage.

We all recall days past when Pentax was a leader, but struggle today with their catch-up, worrying if they ever will catch up to C/N. Similarly Leica enthusiasts reminisce about Leica’s golden days, and now debate about their struggle to modernize the rangefinder format. Just as we yearn for a FF Pentax, users on the Leica forum wait expectantly for a FF Leica M*.

The only difference of late is that it seems Leica’s owner, Andreas Kaufmann, has an active hand in shaping the future. Their involvement with the user community is commendable, and for such a small volume company, their new offering at Photokina 2008 is impressive. Should Pentax take note?

That being said, both companies enjoy an impressive history of formidable lenses that still work with current bodies. Bravo! Let’s hope that both can rejuvenate their bodies in the years to come…

very interesting to see which brand is leading the poll...

i want the D700..!!

but not adverse to running 2 systems side by side.. if some unaccounted for expenses had not come up this month, i would have gotten the D300.. and used that and pentax at the same time.

Canon or Nikon over the other choices for lens availability.
Nikon over Canon for emotional attachment & ergonomics.

from what i read, it looks like "Nikon for the body, Canon for the lenses".. So why is it that Nikon is kicking ass on the poll.. I would not believe that people will vote bodies over lenses.

???

I would convert to Canon..just for 100mm f/2.4 USM Macro.. I have not seen a single un-amazing macro created with it..
