Have you cleared this with Adam the Site owner and administrator? I would suggest you get him to post his go ahead here before anyone will participate.

Like it or not, I find absolutely nothing wrong with this thread.

On the contrary, a person doesn't have to own a camera to conduct a survey for a Masters Thesis and you, who has a degree should know that as you yourself might have conducted such a survey for your degree.

What better place to go than here, the BEST Pentax forum there is, to find-out WHY we stick to Pentax.

I think Reinout has a legitimate reason to post in the General Forum which he did.

From here, I wish him/her the best of luck in his Masters.

Lets make this a HOT topic shall we? Cause I'm effin game for it.

Peter, since when do I need Adam's permission to participate? I also think that this forum is owned by all who visit and especially those who contribute.

Dear members?

you're not a part of this community.. do you even own a camera?

i suggest you delete this msg, your account, and leave.

thank you.
Gooshin, get off your high horse pal. Since when does one have to own a camera to visit this forum? And why can't the OP address us as Members? S/he was not saying they were members.

I have never known anyone on this forum to tell anyone else, guest or not, to leave.

I am very very angry, to say the least, at the attitude taken here.

he could have started off by saying

something like "sorry for bothing you guys, i know i'm not a member here but i'm with X and Y group trying to do research and if you could help me out blah blah blah"

the "dear members" just gave me a weird tick, i would only use such an opening if i actualy knew who i was talking with..

anyway i'll delete my original post.

I see no problem with what Reinhout is doing.
He's had it cleared, and in its context, the format of our Forums meets his needs well.
Lets cooperate and help him out.

high horse or not, i attribute this sort of behavior to begging.

you show up to a place and request the help of total strangers.

some people, dont mind, like you, some people, do mind, like me, particularly dependent on the subject matter, in this case it almost seems like he/she picked this forum out of a hat, he/she is doing a brand survey and after reading her webpage it seems that the survey really doesnt care much for what brand it is.

Where is the personal connection? Why should we care? I'm not feeling it, so i'm posting my feelings.

Just as some may say a new member must follow rules...

so goes those with many posts that think they make the rules.

We are all equal here and I say we all drop it and do the survey if you want to! Sheeeeeesh.

Fighting is something they do at Nikon and Canon sites.
