So...... A wonderful thing happened here.

I made a quick post here
TAMRON SP 300mm F2.8 (Japan ebay) - US$388 + Ship - PentaxForums.com

A very simple thought , sounded out aloud and also in text, as a simple response to a thread....

Then...

A very generous PentaxForum's member contacted me, and said he had an offer I couldn't refuse. George is in NY , the opposite side of the planet from me, He said, he used to have that lens, but no longer does, BUT, he had the palm-rest still, and he would send it to me. And he did, no reward or payment, he posted it to me here in Australia.

Truly a wonderful gesture, that has made me want to say. Thank you George.

And it's things like that that make this forum great.
When I was starting out, a member mailed me (free of charge) a box with some old lenses manual lenses in it.
It's coming time for me to pass them (and others acquired from various places that I don't use anymore) on to other members.

Just say the word! If you end up getting the battery grip then you will have an extra!
