“SweetHearts have gone missing,” CandyStore.com reported last week. “They are the most popular brand of the most popular Valentine’s Day candy, and they’re not on shelves this year. . . .

I saw that too.

To me, chalky hearts are the worst excuse for candy and could go missing forever and I wouldn't send out a search party...

No, candy corn is far worse.

It is so unpopular that in all of history only ten pounds have ever been produced.
No one actually eats the stuff, so the same candy corn keeps getting recirculated...

There are always these - at least they sound the same:

Original Candy | SweeTARTS®

The only variety I am familiar with are the ones packaged like a roll of pennies about 2 inches long.

I remember Necco wafers from 50 years ago - they probably never go bad...

yeah, the original article made that point

the " purpose " of the thread is to warn folks that if they found them for Valentine's Day this year, they are most likely out of date old stock

I can't eat too much chocolate anymore, so when I do I go for good chocolate. My current favourite is the Heidi brand bar which I understand is made in Romania under the direction of a Swiss chocolatier.

That explains why Necco Wafers have disappeared from 'convenience store' shelves.
They aren't good for me .... but I have missed them.

Well next year the two most famous NECCO products will be back on the shelves. New England Candy Company, NECCO went into bankruptcy proceedings last year so I was hoping never to esee those hearts and Necco wafers again.

No, no, no. That's Fruit Cake. Fruit Cake is what is always passed around.

Same can be said for packing peanuts.
