Anybody else finding Flickr slooooooooooooooooow ?

The last several days I am finding Flickr extremely slow - I just built a new Laptop so wanted to see if it was perhaps my machine or anyone else experiencing the same thing?

Getting a full size shot it is like watching molasses being poured outside in January at the North Pole ....

Damn meant to put this in General talk ... good looking boy but stupid at times .... (Jed Clampett)

I followed a poster's link to their gallery on zenfolio.com.

Man, that site is FAST... (prefetching thumbs makes viewing much quicker for sure).

I had the same problem and had several go-rounds with the Flickr Help staff.

If you're using Firefox, trying clearing out your cache really good and restarting your browser. I may have done something else to fix the problem, but it slips my mind at the moment.

Thanks for moving the thread

Those that hate Flickr - well that is helpfull (haha) - I plan at some point to get another host but for now Flickr is cheap and meets my needs and will likely keep it regardless.

dsl is good
have cleaned out temp files
tracert times acceptable

Initial issue I think was IE7 too many tabs open - I find this is the case occasionally -nice feature but more than 3 or 4 and well .... is Windoze really a multi tasking operating system or an operation system that allows you do multiple task one at a time

I am going to check the Flicr board for any indication - could be a host of things including my account.

Thanks for all the replies.
