Quote: There is no such thing as a bad photo - there are only "different" photos.
This is a piece of advice I am apt to repeat when talking to photographers even more amateur than I - and I personally find it good advise to live by.
Another couplet I'm fond of is:
Quote: There is no such thing as a perfect work of art
and relatedly:
Quote: All art can be improved
I took took this to mean that one can find room for improvement (and thus, criticism) in even the greatest works of art - one may always strive for perfection, but not one amongst us may ever attain it.
I found these three paraquotes insightful and I find they are very useful not just in journey as a novice photographer, but in other aspects of my life as well - so I thought I would share them that others may benefit from such wisdom (even if I can't remember the original quotes, or by whom they were writ!). I find them particularly useful when I am asking for opinions on my work (both in and out of photography) - it also helps to remember that most people aren't mean on purpose -
Hanlon's Razor often covers that side of things though!
Might anybody else like to share any insightful or profound comments or quotes that you feel affected you in some way?
