Originally posted by reeftool I think the count is now up to 7 at the Grand Canyon. I really don't know the circumstances of all of these falls but a little common sense would have prevented them. We have a lot of fatalities here in the Adirondacks every year and most are people doing something dumb or hiking into places that are beyond their ability or current physical condition.
It is natural selection.
Those with dominant and better survival skills stay back enough they don't fall to their death.
The weak ones venture too close to danger, and meet an untimely end.
