Hi all,
Today is our national holiday --
Canada Day. Lots of folks are celebrating in their red and white attire.
Canada is 152 years old (young?).
Here in Ottawa, a huge celebration takes place on Parliament Hill, including an official program with the Prime Minister et al at noon and a multi-media entertainment extravaganza in the evening, followed by an impressive fireworks display over the Ottawa River.
Here's the view from across the street:

It's not busy now at mid-afternoon, but the lawn will be filled this evening.
Incidentally, this is the same grounds that saw some 100,000 citizens on September 14, 2001, a National Day of Mourning for the 9/11 attacks. We wanted to observe remembrance for the victims and show solidarity with our American friends. For those who might be interested, a Canadian 9/11 timeline is here:

Happy Canada Day!
