How about the model that is easy to work with and who thinks the same of you and who is simply serious and excellent in regards to the making of photos. I know photographers who do excellent work with models (choose a gender, any gender) whose attractiveness is non-conventional, but whose presence simply works.

If I was trying to make a work of art and not doing commercial work I would always opt for an interesting, expressive face. Age would not be relevant. Most actors, actresses and models look plastic to me. Their faces seem painted on like a mask. I hate that look. To me, the sidekick in a movie is always way more interesting than the star. I would rather photograph Gabby Hayes than John Wayne.

I wish I had the skills of famous portrait photographer, Yousuf Karsh to do justice to portrait subjects. I'm amazed at his portraits of Sir Winston Churchill and Earnest Hemingway.

I have already presented my choice, however another just came to mind that would be a very interesting subject and she is: Former First Lady, Michelle Obama. I have always admired her, her intellect, her natural beauty and those high cheeks would really provide a stellar opportunity for portrait work. Thnx for viewing.

She makes any photographer look good. Even me, if I had the chance.

My own choice would be a face with character. Sophia Loren & Clive Owen come to mind.

Hedy Lamarr.

Some younger individuals may not be familiar with Ms. Lamarr, here is some background on her. She had quite a life and in addition to being an actress, she was also an inventor.

But what if you had to choose between an actress or model as they are.Which one?
Ok, South Korean actress Ha Ji-won. Probably unknown to anyone outside of Korea other than fans of Korean shows, but she is a talented actress. She's not drop-dead gorgeous like typical movie stars, but has more of a girl-next-door appeal. Check her out in "Secret Garden," a romantic comedy in 20 one-hour episodes (subtitled in English).

I have not much interest in photographing humans, but a session with Annie Leibovitz would probably be both awesome and scary.

Megan Rapinoe. She's fire.

Lupita Nyong'o. She could probably do anything.

Here is the story behind his iconic photograph of Winston Churchill. Pretty funny but it got the expression he wanted.

That’s a fabulous story. By coincidence I’m sitting in my daughter’s new home in Jefferson City, MO, just a few miles from Westminster College where Churchill made the Iron Curtain speech. The National Churchill Museum is located in the undercroft beneath the Church of St. Mary - Alderrnanbury that was moved to Fulton from London stone by stone after the war.

I got a thing for women in music. I probably got more but those are from off the top of my head.
