Shipping to Austrailia from the United States

Any recommendation on what carrier/service to use to ship a 2 pound small box to Australia from the United States.

I just used the US Postal Service to send something to a fellow member here earlier this year. Got there pretty quick and no big deal. If it is valuable, bite the bullet and go with UPS or FedEx and insure it. Insuring stuff with the Post Office on international packages is an exercise in frustration. The insurance only covers the period that they have you package in their custody. The package is always lost after they hand it off.

If under $400 USD in value just send it USPS First class parcel and it will be reasonable price-wise. I am not sure on any weight limit for the sub 16.00 postage for a similar item (but lighter than 1 pound.) I sent earlier this year.
