Around 2000 Nikon made some limited edition 35mm film mechanical rangefinder cameras.

It would probably be impossible for Pentax do anything like that now,
but wouldn't it be great if they offered a 100th anniversary film camera,
a classic Spotmatic perhaps?

And whatever happened to the dSLR prototype that looked like a Spotmatic?

Chris
I remember Ricoh Imaging saying something on the lines of the anniversary being more about the future, rather than the past.

Going off the KP-J, they would probably be beyond the price range of most pentaxians and only be available in Japan, leaving the rest of us to dream of what might have been, if only.........

The Nikon commemorative rangefinders were quite expensive, but still they sold out.
They were limited editions intended for collectors.

If Pentax made a commemorative I probably couldn't afford it.
But still I'd like to see one.

IMO it would be an excellent way to honor the company's history,
far better than simply stamping a logo on a current product etc.

Sadly I suppose that's the best today's Pentax can do.

Maybe I'll fire up my P-touch label maker and see if I can make some for everybody!

I guess you didn't notice the sarcasm emoticon.

Don't worry defenders of Ricoh, my P-touch can't even make those stylized letters...
