Chalk up 250!

Just a reminder,on Wednesday 29th2020.

Its the day 250 years ago that CC discovered Kurnell Point(surf spot).

Powerful right hander with intense tuberides are possible.Ideal conditions vary.A BIG south swell,a moderate east or NE swell and EAST(protected) but SE to SW winds are better.

Earliest map I could find of NSW colony, some places were named a longtime ago.

I was born in Brisbane for Finnish parents and got a dual nationality. I've been living in europe most of my life and haven't got a chance to visit Australia again. Hopefully someday.
I do feel kind of proud to have Australian passport but yet I don't feel like I'm a real Aussie. Although there is some old newspaper clip calling me a real dinky die...

After having some military experience, and understanding the culture and the humour that goes with it, I have to say that in times of discontent like this I'm heartened to see you can still rely on the military to just do something without thinking how it will be taken by the civvies. Well done whoever

MELBOURNE in lock down.

A curfew from 8pm till 5am,unless going or coming from work.

5 kilometer radius for shopping once a day perhousehold.

5 kilometer radius for exercise that is limited to 1 hour per day.

I hope you Mekicanos can get rid of it asap. The Melbourne Cup is probably in doubt, even this far off.

Not at all,for that far flung outpost one horse state(its left hasnt it?).

I hope your state can keep it out,my mate flew in 4 weeks ago and had to self isolate 2 weeks in a Perth hotel.Cops checking he was confined regularly. On 4 weeks on,then 4 off.But cant come back to NewSouth(premierState btw!) He has to stay over for the 4 off.So all up 10 weeks away from the family(its usually 2 at a time) and he doesnt know whats happening after the 2nd lot of 4 weeks.I just hope OZ can get control of it as well as the Kiwis, their strictness paid off.6-700 new cases a day in Vic,thats scary.

I am a Canadian citizen, and ex-Australian resident (long story). For reasons relating to pension, the Canadian authorities need information pertaining to my residence in countries other than Canada. Specifically, they are asking for my Australian "registration number".

The only number that comes to mind would be the Tax File Number (TFN). Is anyone here aware of the existence of any other number used in Oz, such as a social security number, for example?

Thanks for any input.

That's interesting. Was Australia only two provinces originally?

New Holland was never a province.
NSW was the bit settled by the Pomms and gradually expanded.
There's more detail, but I'm going to bed.

Originally it was just NSW,but we subdivided the big island and sent the undesirables to the little island(they bred up and the long distance swimmers founded Adelaide, the dog paddlers could only make it across Bass straight to Meckico.)

Hey Surfar I Think you are forgetting about the Emus that despite lacking opposable digits, we fought a war against...and lost.

Fast forward a few decades and the emu's became known colloquially as Turbochickens, they all went north and inhabit the land abbreviated as NT (Nothing but Turbochickens) or as the uneducated call it: Northern Territory.
