I have been warned about using that term, but it is multilayered, pattern forged steel, made by my own fair hand.

Have you heard of the TV show "Forged in Fire"?
Yes, but I have yet to see an episode. I must look it up

that is what they call it

historically I don't think it is but on the show, one way they get that pattern is that they do a forging involving cutting, folding and reforging layers to create the pattern

it is an interesting show

I hope you can catch it on line

NO Allen! You just. Don't. Get it

It's all about efficient use of available space and ease of unloading.

But I did say not to get me started....
I'm with you there. It's an obsession of mine. I have been known to unpack the whole thing as others have haphazardly packed dishes into it.

That, along with efficient packing of the car's boot / trunk for holidays / road-trips.
My wife says I'd be great at Tetris.

Also, I used to be obsessive over vintage cars. The thing would be so clean, you could eat off the underside. With every original or factory correct part perfect. I once bought a whole car in a scrapyard to get two tiny bits of chrome trim off it. Each no more than one inch square. But, not anymore. These days I just don't care about clean cars.

I have a small collection of guitars. My collection seems to rotate often. I cant have too many do to limited space, but I like to keep at least 6 or so on hand. I have two acoustics not pictured and they are the guitars I mainly play these day's.

The family shot.

I've packed our car for an 8 day road trip, all in its 6.4 cubic feet of trunk. Usually my wife wants something well buried.

Can't think of anything I'm obsessed with.

I'm semi obsessed with bicycling, I use to ride thousands of miles a year. Now I work to keep my OCD streak of monthly 100 mile rides alive. I've been doing at least one 100+ mile ride a month (outdoors) since June of 2003. I know I'll need to quit at some point but want it to be a good reason, not just because the weather was bad or something like that.

I find that impossible because she has to have things packed her way.

I'm a news junkie

like some people have music on as background " noise "

I have news on during the day

'nuff said

of course, the forums do provide a pleasant intervention

add " tilting at windmills " to my obsessions

My other passions:

video Games, though having a small human has significantly decreased my playing time

3D Printing, another expensive hobby that takes a LOT of time getting dialed in correctly

biking, though I need to get my bikes out of storage so I can start riding again

My coworker is heavy into 3D... eats it up. We have some rapid prototyping laser stuff and Haas 5 axis available, too much coding involved.
