That's a really heartening story - it's so easy to give in to a feeling that nothing can be done, but this proves it can!

fantastic news.

Is just pure pleasure on two fronts.

your organization recovering this, and the bloody ******* not getting their stinking dirty fingers on it.

Wonderful news! I'm happy to have been of help.

As a general reminder to anyone doing business online: scammers are increasingly eager to trick people these days. Always verify that a transaction confirmation is real before proceeding to ship, and be very wary of clicking on any links in e-mails that seem out of place. Many scammers will send out fake fraud alerts as a way to lure victims to deceptive websites.
This in triplicate! When I went in to work on Friday morning, my coworker and I could not get into our work email boxes, Wholesale, Sales, and personal named inboxes, since we had been pummeled at our off site managed email server with hundreds of "Mail undeliverable" messages where email bounced back to our addresses. They were targeting Italian and Spanish email addresses but most if not all bounced due to malware packages found at the internet provider's firewalls.

The strange thing is, that they spoofed our email addresses so our customers were not spammed, and the IP addresses that the mail came from were not owned and had nothing to do with us, but the return address came back to us, causing our email provider to shut down the return emails and our access. Sneaky creeps!

If you aren't expecting an email with a link from someone, and you receive an email with a link, DO NOT CLICK IT!

A no less remarkable story around a stolen 645Z happened in the German Pentaxians community. I'll try to give a short summary here based on the German writeup on what happened.

A photographer bought a 645Z and lenses at a camera swap in good faith, only to find the post that this camera was stolen shortly after. The photographer handed the camera over to the police, so it found its way back to the original owner.

The original owner was happy - kind of. Neither thief nor seller could be found, which by the law resulted in a total loss of more than 3000€ to the - honest - buyer. This didn't feel right at all. The original owner wanted to at least give some financial reward, which prompted a fellow Pentaxian to create this request to pitch in on the forum. The response was overwhelming: Even being a much smaller forum than this one, still 125 people responded and within days the full amount, and then some, was collected. The buyer didn't have a clue when they met up - pictures of the happy end are at page 27 of the thread. The excess is going to an NGO which supports crime victims.

So who sent it back? Police?
Your video...your camera was packaged for shipping better than most camera stores ship!
Nice story during the holidays.
