How is it possible that Peter did not reply to this thread at all? Has he been off-line? Or has this been a funny trick by Peter himself to see what advice he would get from his fellow forum-members?

Anyway I am curious what was in all those pm's that were sent.

Let's wait ...

Regardless what gift Peter got, he will be a happy man as he appreciates the Mary's effort to get a present for him.

I think my wife's family hates me.

My one sister in law sent me a bar of soap, the other sent a cheesy Christmas tree ornament they bought at the dollar store.

I wish Mary was my sister in law. She sounds considerate.

Come on Peter - whad ya git?

Over the years, my parents-in-law have gotten me some pretty cheesy gifts (always supplemented by cash, though ), but at least I know that they like me. After reading your post , I have to say that their gifts pale in comparison. If you feel the need to vent more, I've started the following thread:
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/general-talk/44968-tacky-cheesy-useless-c...s-anybody.html

Perhaps the reason we haven't heard from Peter is that he's been out playing whatever it is that Mary got him.

Peter was very happy this year. I noticed this thread and stayed away and there were a couple nice surprises. All perfect.

I want to thank everyone that helped advise her and point her in the right direction.

So the first box contained....

Ok I can't do that to you all.

first a near mint Tak 28 f3.5 with matching case also near mint. This is one beautiful lens. Sharp and great colour. Perfect smaller brother to the Tak 105mm I now have. Might start selling off some AF glass soon...

Second a Lowepro Sliplock case#3 that fits my S&F belt. Perfect fit for the Sigma 70-200 f2.8 or FA*300mm f4.5 Great!!

Finally but equally important, a 1T hard drive. Most needed!

I could not be luckier to have such a wonderful partner and wife. Plus thanks to all those that helped her find the right stuff.

It seems Mary really knows what to get with a series of good gifts relevant to your needs in photography business. Besides, she actually listens to the advice!

Happy festive seasons!

Hello Everyone:

Happy Holidays and I hope you all enjoyed your holidays whichever one it maybe.

I want to thank you all for helping me with regards to Peter's Christmas gift, it was sincerely appreciated.

I understand Peter wrote an email letting you all know what he got, and he was very pleased with it. And I do have a picture to post, he is not all that crazy about posting a picture of him first thing in the morning, seeing I woke him up at 3:22 am...I am a kid at heart especially on Xmas day. Nevertheless, I will let him view it and then I will post for you.

Again, thank you all with my warmest regards.

Mary
