we know and we are not happy about the lack of testing

it is obvious that testing could have been done, should have been done and needs to be done ASAP

Oh.... if anybody knows how to buy and store a months worth of cake, biscuits, chocolate and chips and then not consume them in a week I'd like to know.

Our local hostpital, there are about 350 000 people living in its catchment area, maxed out its resources in testing yesterday. They managed just about 100 tests that day.
No idea how they plan to manage this, but numbers will stay unclear up until the end I guess.

I'm going out on a limb here, but... I'm not 100% convinced you've got this "balanced diet" thing quite right, Noel...

Yeah, tell me that during hurricane preparation. ))) Stockpiling for disaster is not over reaction, it's common sense.
There is a fine line between stockpiling, and hoarding, or worse profiteering from it. The advantage ( so to speak) of a virus over a hurricane, is that normally the water and power and heat will not stop. And essential food delivery will not stop. So you really only need 2-3 weeks of food to be able to self isolate.

Common sense has absolutely nothing to do with the behaviour we are seeing.

Just buy flour sugar, etc, and not cakes and biscuits. You will be so busy baking you will forget to eat

I think @Digitalis is suggesting we fit you with some of these, Noel... I'll see if we have a spare set in the moderator's cupboard...

Here in Australia we have seen all three of those. I can only imagine those proclivities will show up in communities elsewhere, and I hope the perpetrators get what's coming when the dust settles...ruthless deeds return to harass their architect.

People lacking common sense? who'd a thunk it?

" [ toilet paper ], [ toilet paper ], we don't need no stinking [ toilet paper ] " - bad misquote from " The Treasure of the Sierra Madre "

to survive

as oppose to medicine, food and water

Maybe if the story of King Midas were updated for 2020, everything he touched would turn into toilet paper or hand sanitizer?

I didn’t know you could restock common sense. Maybe we can produce boxes containing it

Those boxes are called humans, some contain it, others don't. Unfortunately (?) selling those boxes is forbidden in most countries.
