the experiment begins:

QuoteQuote:
Reopening of America accelerates as states prepare to relax coronavirus restrictions

. . . After shutting down much of American life in March and keeping people home throughout April, governors are preparing to lift restrictions as the calendar turns to May — and cross their fingers that the novel coronavirus doesn’t come roaring back . . .

The easing will not be universal . . . In states such as New York, where covid-19 has exacted its heaviest toll, there is no letup to the rules in sight. Even in places where restrictions are being relaxed, governors have emphasized the need to proceed cautiously, lest they unleash a second wave . . .

Yet even the most tentative steps have unnerved public health experts, big-city mayors and others who worry that with case numbers continuing to rise, it is too soon to reverse course on a virus that has killed nearly 53,000 Americans.

“We don’t have the resources in place to do the level of testing and contact tracing we need to make sure we’re monitoring this effectively,” said Jeffrey Shaman, an epidemiologist at Columbia University. “We’re flying blind.”

The reopenings come at a time when stay-at-home rules still enjoy widespread support, despite acute economic pain. Polls show that majorities of Americans worry more about moving too quickly to get back to business than too slowly...

It's time for someone's favorite slogan:

Make
American
Graves
Again

They even make hats for it!

The neighbor behind me has her brother and sister in law staying with her for awhile. They are from NYC and can work remotely so no problems there. Today I learned something from them. Wished I would have thought of it myself. Beer pong is the perfect social distancing game.

perhaps we will in the future look back and quote Winston:

“This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.”

I hope so

and if not now

soon

Not really, I lean towards waiting for the movie.

Beer resources are dangerously low here. And we are out of gin.

I don't mind all the bad news about meat, but beer is important.

Odd how different places run out of different stuff. First it was the toilet paper, but now it's just the pasta and rice shelves that are pretty bare here. No shortage in the beer and wine department. Essentials and all that!

A Face and Story to one of the statisics.

Coronavirus Victim Jon Coelho Leaves Notes App Goodbye Message For Family

Everyone of the many victims is like this.. A Real Person, With family and loved ones.. Statistics and numbers aside.. people that believe this pandemic is a myth or unreal... or not serious enough to warrant closures and restrictions you risk taking another person and dehumanizing them them to a statistic...that person may be someone you know.. you can bet it will be real for you then.
