Elon Musk put the US back in the space business today.

Check out the video here (a reviewable version of the live stream from earlier today):

Watched it on the internet today. So much better coverage than what ABC was showing. I see you have a friend of my uncle as you avatar.

Thanks Racer. I missed the launch but was able to scroll back from the live feed to see the pre-launch and launch coverage. Awesome.

I caught it on a satellite channel, Science Channel I believe. Preempted regular programming, no commercials.

The space suits look very futuristic, movie like. Tailored, close fitting, stylish, the helmets streamlined and smart looking.

A couple of dapper men they were.

I hear the main man was there for the launch, any chance of taking an extra passenger?!

I watched the weather-delayed attempt on Wednesday and the whole thing live on the web last night (it was evening our time). Fascinating to see a state-of-the-art 21st Century spacecraft in action for the first time. Keeping my fingers crossed for a return to the moon in a few years.

Watched it on one of the CSpan feeds. Wonderful to see a bird go up properly!

As I watched it liftoff, it seemed to accelerate slower than it should have. It also followed a lower arc than the shuttle or Apollo launch vehicles did.

But hey, it made it.

It is good to see that they brought back the NASA worm logo. I love that thing.
NASA?s ?Worm? Logo Will Return to Space - The New York Times and the images provided by Racer X 69.

It's about time that it returned.

Slick looking spacesuits - they remind me of the time-travel suits they wore in the last Avengers movie

That's because the designer, Jose Fernandez, is a costume designer that has worked on various comic book featured films.

SpaceX had a spectacular failure in an unmanned test earlier this week, so I'm relieved the passengers made it safely on this flight.
