So an update:

Package #1 was delivered on time

Package #2 was delayed, was suppose to get there on the 5th & got delivered on the 7th.

Package #3 VEEEERY Late. Hasn't even left the state the shipper is in. It was picked up by USPS on December 1st in Houston, MO and took 2 days to get to Springfield, MO (got there on Dec 3rd). From there, it took 4 days to get from Springfield, MO to Kansis City, MO. (got there on Dec 7th). It barely left the distribution center today. So it took a full week for it to travel 259 miles. 😑

Wow! That's a break-neck speed of 37 miles per day. The Pony Express averaged about 180 miles a day. One rider was documented to have covered 380 miles in just under 40 hours..

Both the change in logging and the change in movement may be partially the result of changes made by the Postmaster General to run the USPS as more like a business.

This is fundamentally correct. Recent changes implemented have impacted delivery speed.

All my USPS packages have been about expected recently here in Florida. Just the occasional odd routing.

It seems like they are so overwhelmed that they are not scanning many packages in transit. Add to that drivers who are so bone tired that they misread addresses and leave packages at random front doors.
This has already happened twice this month and I expect more of the same next week,

I am awaiting several deliveries, all delayed.

USPS tracking now states:
"In Transit, Arriving Late
Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. It is currently in transit to the next facility.
"

eBay tracking for those items states:
"High shipping volumes are causing some delays. Please allow extra time."

This is where you tell him that you PERSONALLY sat on his package just to make him mad.

That is a new one. I wonder if it was a cross-town deal?
