I got notice Friday that a package was shipped. According to USPS they haven't received it yet. I guess I 'll know in a day or two.

This happens regularly with some of my eBay purchases.
eBay requires sellers to ship promptly, however all that seems to be required is that a shipping label be created.
I have had some sellers wait more than a week to actually get the package to the shipper...

Well, from what Ive read online it seems like the UPS & FedEx decided to limit package pickups this month, so alot of people are dropping off their packages to USPS, adding to the backlog of packages the USPS have to deliver this month.

I just asked a seller for an update on a package that had been tracked for 10 days waiting for the next stage in the USPS process.
Just wanted an update because the seller is still listing the same items as in stock.
Boom. Instant refund.
Got a feeling that this is just getting worse.

FWIW...

USPS has exceeded expectations on two of today's arrivals, both of which came two days before they were supposed to.

Generally I have always had the USPS exceed expectations, with the only time being a package that cleared customs and sat in a bin in Chicago before moving out to the state I was living in at the time. My media mail, all 300 pounds of it in 14 boxes made it to Southern Indiana from Maine in less than 7 days! That is the low priority low cost way to ship books and it was fast! The local mail carrier was probably not exactly thrilled with me but I had no room in the U-Haul trailer!

USPS had the absolute gall to take a shipment I mailed out Monday (New Jersey) and deliver today (California).

Glad not everyone is having trouble. Historically I have had few issues with USPS delivering on time which is why I started the the thread to begin with- I was trying to gauge if the current troubles were regional or widespread.

A fellow USPS employee in Operations told me our facility normally receives
an average of 2 tractor trailer loads of parcels per day during December.
One day this week they received 12.

I have a package coming from Lancaster, PA. Normally a 4 1/2 hour drive...I wonder if the 40+ inches of snow that dropped on the route yesterday has something to do with it not arriving today...

USPS is still tracking an order that was never shipped because eBay merchant was out of stock. Preparing to give tracking numbers as stocking stuffers this year.

Well we have a package that spent almost a week in Texas, coming to Wisconsin. According to tracking, it left Texas yesterday afternoon and is already out for delivery in Wisconsin.

Go home USPS, you're drunk.
