I would say we are learning more about vaccines like Sputnik V (works, but fades after 6 months), Sinopharm (doesn't seem very effective in people over 50 years old), and Sinovac (about 50 percent effective against infections in Brazil, but pretty effective at preventing severe infections). Obviously we are learning more about Pfizer, Moderna, AZ and Jannsen's vaccines as well. Those, while funded by various governments, were developed by private industry and their results are published in peer reviewed journals.
More data is a benefit to us all and helps steer wise decisions both now and going forward.
