The real reason I don't have the K20 :) (A few pictures)

Okay, I have been holding out on you all. I do want a K20 but we (LOLOL) decided that the family needed a little something in the backyard that would make it easier to stay home during the warm months.

No we didn't need a backhoe

Next summer should be fun.

I can't help but think about how much gear that could have bought just kidding a little. It will make for lots more fun and pictures this summer. We got a end of season deal and so still have not taken the first plung yet. If you want to see more shots of the construction you can check here The backyard.

Anyone want to give pool tips let me know I already know I will invest in a better cover that anchors to the deck next year.

So, I don't think the K20 will be coming soon, but I assure you I will be first second or third in line when the next model comes out. (if "we" think it is okay)

looks great - the only damn issue is that because of liability you have to keep that stupid fence around the pool, otherwise some neighb. kid will certainly decide that yours is the pool to get drowned.

Gary I wish it only cost that much

deejj - the real fence goes up tomorrow. I will post what it looks like when it is done. I am getting one of those pool alarms as well. Luckly we live on a dead end with only a handful of nieghbors.

hire a full time lifeguard and double your liability coverage on homeowner's insurance

Tell us the truth now. How many times did you jump up in the cab of that backhoe and make noises like it was running and you were moving yards and yards of earth?
Best piece of advice? Don't take the liner for granted. If you have to ever change it, gets a few friends, take your time and do it very well.

So now you have a nice skating rink until the spring thaw, being too late in the year for you to enjoy it.

Summer is just around the corner here at the moment and I wish I had a pool in the backyard.

By the way, a friend of mine did get an inground swimming pool for the price of a K20D. It was a fibreglass pool being demolished to make way for a new shopping centre in Casino, so he offered to move it at his own cost as he happened to walk past. All up, including small repairs in shifting it, it came to $A1,500

It's the least he can do after posting those. I expect to be picked up at my door btw.

It's going to be hard to find an excuse to go out and take photos now though isn't it?

Well Pat I think you did the right thing. The pool may just last as long as the K20.
Besides the kids will have more fun in the summer, and the wife might too, just depends on how you romance her. (pools are great for an intimate night time dip with mom.) Now all ya need is a sign saying no skinny dipping allowed (except Mom and Dad that is.)
Looks really great Pat have fun and stay safe.

Sweet Pat congrats ! If I could convince my Daughter to drop out of collage I would have a K20D too! hahah

Seriously that pool will be a blast I am sure. Congrats and I am sure it does not hurt the resale value of the home - whereas a K20D depreciates as soon as it is payed for.

Wow, that's a nice pool.

Had you got the K20D, you would have been able to use the built in intervalometer to record the progress of the build.

BTW I know nuts about pools but how do you prevent leaves falling into it?
