When I watched it yesterday I was just a tiny bit weirded out. Not my type of music, didn't wanna say anything. I think the transition where it goes from the "talking" part into the refrain/singing is very abrupt. Tha spooked me when I first listened to it. It almost sounds like the song was cut and another beat was inserted...

That is because that is NOT where the song goes to. It was a composite done for TV that goes from the verse to the chorus to the hook abruptly to give a taste of the song in the video. If you go to his website you can hear the whole song.
