The only thing I received that will probably be used for some type of photography equipment is an Amazon.com gift card.

My actual gifts included a few gadgets I wanted and a new Craftsman 7-1/4" Circular Saw.

My wife also gave me a set of very nice Ceramic Mustache cups. Something I had wanted for a while.

My girlfriend got me a 200 dollar gift card, which I used to get my K200D the very next day.

Battery grip (which I like so far) and a lens pen (which actually works better than I expected, not something I would have bought for myself).

Now I have to get over to the US to pick up another D-LI 50 for something approaching a reasonable price.

I got myself a FA 50 f/1.4, had ordered it a month ago and it arrived on Xmas eve.

Got home, installed the lens then turned around and snapped this with in 30 sec of installing the lens. The room was very dark.

I got the Joe Farace Reporter II bag from Adorama, and the Pentax wireless remote (the one that fits inside the battery grip).

I got a K20D!! I'm very happy with it. Now all I need is a better tripod and ball head. And then some more lenses, maybe a ring flash, and some more lenses. There's no end to it is there? Happy New Year everybody.

I got a book on gardening... even though I asked for the "understanding exposure" book...

truth be told, I am interested in starting up a garden in my backyard... but damn...

I got the latest revision of the National Geographic Field Guide to Photography, which thus far seems to be much weaker than the original on technical matters (explanation of exposure, etc), but at least as good on the more inspirational stuff (stories about particular photographers and assignments).

I also got my wife a cell phone with a camera and I don't think she wants it, so I might adopt it.
