I'm not going to give any names because they only had a feedback rating of 6 when I bought the lens, (they now have a 7), and were not any type of distributor for camera equipment.
The seller did have a Nikon camera, but said the lens didn't fit. I'll assume it's because the camera was older or something. The person they bought the lens from may have just put it in an available box, and since the lens didn't fit, and the box said Pentax... they believed the lens was Pentax. Of course that still doesn't explain how they didn't know it was a 50mm f2.8 macro, and thought it was a 28-300mm zoom. The title of the listing was for a Pentax mount Sigma 28-300mm... just like it says on the box it came in, the instructions inside, and the blank warranty card.
Do I feel a little guilty? Yes, a little. Do you think I should have informed the seller they may have sent me their macro lens by mistake?
I still have the lens. My friend will not be by until tomorrow to inspect the lens before buying it. Of course once they see it, it will be sold. This lens is unused.
So, should I tell the seller? I guess that's why I started this thread in the first place.... guilt....
