What are the tripods for? I can't imagine using them on a ride or anything.
Mainly for fireworks but also for any night scenes. Some use them during the day along with an ND filter but I haven't done that yet.

I know the feeling, I was that way at the end of last year's trip. But all those photos were actually from April '08 except for Wishes, which was 1/07, my first DSLR trip, taken with my *ist DL.

I hopefully will get the first of this latest trip's photos processed tonight... the ones posted so far in my trip thread are all pretty much straight from RAW to Lightroom to jpg with default settings.

9 more days... but I must report you have caused a fight between my wife and me. I now want to take:
1) 50-300 for animal kingdom
2) 50 f1.4 low light (maybe second body film w/B&W-fight)
3) 16-45 day-to-day

Here is were the fight really starts:
4) 70 ltd. (because I have it)
5) Tri-pod - maybe sleeping on couch
6) mono-pod - maybe sleeping with that dog (snoopy - which ever, don't know Disney characters)

I am considering sneaking the following and PRAYING she doesn't find out:
7) new backpack with computer sleeve and holds camera and day pack
8) video camera (HD handheld... nice... but a little to big...)
