Cool! Who bought that 1200mm lens that was up in the Market Place?

You could use a 300mm lens. Take a series of 1 second photos and stack them.

I have a photo of comet Holmes, in my gallery. I used a 300mm on a tripod to shoot that.
Dark skies make it much easier.

Comet Lulin won't be back. It will gain enough speed to escape the solar system.

Ummm...where's Saturn located? lol

Kind of related...what body was close to the moon in the second week of February? I'll get a pic up tomorrow (hopefully). It looked sweet cause it was lined up with the crescent shape of the moon...

Ahh...thanks! I was driving home and saw it shining bright...went inside, grabbed the tripod and camera (and gloves!) and stood in my driveway.

Even at 80mm focal length, they filled the frame. I'm hoping I can see the comet at 300mm...

At 1am it will be in the southern sky near Saturn. If it is fairly dark at your loctaion you may see it in a 300mm.
Use a bright star to focus on. When it is a perfect pin dot, then shift to the comet.
