that is the $49 question
The prisoner (1967)
Iron maiden used the voice from this show in their song Prisoner. "I am not a number, I am a free man!" "ha ha ha ha ha!" And the giant beach balls that would chase him down when he tried to escape. Remember the answer to why he was trapped?

Yeah right. Who in their right mind would ever name a kid 'Mark', instead of something sensible like 'Henrik Lodewijkus'?
That was my great-grandfather. Have you been stalking my family tree? LOL

pinholecam = basic camera = a basic guy trying to make photos using the basic skills and gear he has

Unfortunately, I have used this same name on all other forums, Whatsapp and facebook without realizing that the layman/women does not know what a pin hole camera is.
Or rather, they think they know.....
A camera that can be placed in a pin hole to spy on others or some other shady photography....

Back when I was searching for a good nick, my activities , cameras, tennis, baseball, canoe tripping, volleyball. I wanted a name that would be recognized by folks I might email so my emails didn't get tossed. So I just used my name. I don't think it worked on my sisters. As far as I can tell my emails go straight to their junk folders.

For a while I was Norguy short for Northern Guy. That got shortened to Norgy, back in internet chat days. That nick is 10 years gone.

No shortage of time wasting with all this self-isolation going on.

I do remember that show, but there was a previous British show starring Patrick McGoohan...Danger Man that came out a few years before.

Dangerman, along with The Avengers starring Patrick McNee and Diana Rigg/ Honor Blackman and then of course The Saint starring Roger Moore were my top TV shows in the 1960's. They were all British and to me represented well...that golden era of British TV.

There was also an American TV show called Man in a Suitcase, about a character named McGill who was an ex American secret agent, down on his luck, living and getting whatever work he could get in England. Great show, unfortunately only two seasons.
I remember the Avengers, with Mrs. Peel [ Diana Rigg ] very fondly

and The Prisoner and The Saint as well

Dangerman I never saw but I did see Danger Mouse

Mine is a contraction of my given name. As a child I was only called Desmond when my mother was speaking sternly to me.

My father claimed that I was named for the then captain (later coach) of his beloved Richmond Football Club (Des Rowe), something my mother always denied. She regarded it as a nod to the Irish heritage (it is from the Gaelic for the southern part of Munster, an historic kingdom where most of my ancestors came from). It was once a moderately common name in Australia, but it had probably become unfashionable even when I was born, except amongst Irish diehards.

My avatar is an Eastern Yellow Robin. Followers of the yard birds or long lenses thread have been subjected to many images of these lively little birds, which in our rural idyll are like the airy spirits of Prospero's island. I love their curiosity, amongst other things.

Many years ago in mock snobbery I insisted my nieces child should address me as Great Uncle Basil. That was immediately initialised to GUB with really suits this rather loud agrarian type.

she was a widow, her husband, Peter Peel was a test pilot who was lost during a flight over the Amazon Rain Forest

she was widowed before appearing in the show

[ spoiler alert ]

Peter reappears 3 years later and was the reason that the duo of Steed and Mrs. Peel dissolved as she reunited with her husband

John Steed's Partners - Emma Peel
