I've been using xjjohnno for a few years as a nick, the XJ from an XJ900 Yamaha I rode for many years, suppose the Johnno bit doesn't really warrant an explanation.

It's my name...

Pretty boring really. My username is, well, my name. It is from when I used to work on mainframe computers and we had 8 character usernames and my name conveniently fitted into 8 characters.

But my Ebay username is yar-nella. Would you believe that some people can't work that one out?

No special meaning behind my username (that I know of ), it's what everyone calls me...dazman
As for my avatar, it's the Koru (New Zealand fern). The word “Koru” is the Maori name given to the new unfurling fern frond and symbolizes new life, growth, strength and peace. I'm a proud Kiwi, living in Australia.

Pretty sure mine is self explanitory as well. New Brunswick ( where I am ), Nova Scotia and PEI are called the "maritime provinces"... can't quite remember why Newfoundland isn't considered one though...

Avatar is a shot I took last summer in the Irving Nature Park.

I officiated HS soccer and basketball (in Virginia) for many, many years (until the knees gave out). Cardinal is the state bird + the officials association name was "cardinal". I was born in 1943 (yep, I'm old), so I have been using "cardinal43" for a long time.

My son and I bought K10D's together. I had led the way to Pentax, taking the DSLR plunge with a K100D but, since he's much more thorough in his product research than I am, I was delighted when he decided Pentax was the way to go. In retrospect, it may not have been such a good idea--he's such a lens mooch ;~)

The avatar is detail from a shot I took in Oxford, GB of a bust of Cicero.

Now, that google only finds you when searching for it: which novel is it?

I've been using this nickname on a couple of occasions. "gazonk" is a so-called Metasyntactic variable, and I've used it for that since I used the original TECO-based version of Emacs about 27 years ago, which used "gazonk.foo" as its default buffer name.
