A Sign I'm Too Immersed in Photography

Today I saw with my own two little eyeballs a real world scene and thought to myself, "The white balance needs to be adjusted."

...wear dark glasses....

I guess 'immersed' is okay as long as you are still having fun.

No, I just tape a white coffee filter over my eyeglasses. Of course, that's only when I am looking in JPG. When I'm looking in RAW I don't worry about it.

I wish I could say I thunk up the white balance thing as a gag, but I really and truly did look at a RealWorld [tm] scene and immediately think the WB was off.

I've thought that many a time when odd lighting situations.

What I'd like is to be able to be able to set my eyes to "manual focus" sometimes so that I can see the world as my camera does; right now, as soon as I move my eyes, AF kicks in and refocuses too fast for me to see the picture "as is".

I guess that explains our endless fascination with bokeh?

Lol Mike. Did you think about how you need to move your aperture rings so that more things can be in focus as well?

I went to the optometrist today who put something in my eye to open up my iris so he could see the back of my eye.

As my vision was somewhat blurred and things were really bright, I thought to myself "oh man, my aperture is open WAY to wide... it's causing some of the details to be blurred. I wish I could stop down my eyes. And how come I can't adjust my shutter speed to help with the over brightness. I must've stopped my eyes to F1.8..."

And my camera wasn't even on me.

How about thinking about the weather in exposure value terms? It must've been about EV 18 out today, so bright!

I was at the supermarket today and saw a new non-sugar sweetener called Truvia. My first thought was that it sounded like a Fujifilm product...

Hey, my eyes could use some colour adjustment too - one sees with a slight red tone, the other with a cooler more bluish tone. Not really a problem, but it means that if I'm looking at a scene (especially with only one eye) I'm not seeing the same colour balance that somebody else is.
