Last night I went to see one of the bands that started as Linda Ronstadt's backup band. Yes indeed the Eagles. They did a good selection of the new stuff (Long Road Out of Eden) - some of their classics Hotel California , Life In The Fast Lane, Take it to the Limit, etc and a stunning encore of Desporado, as well as some of Don Henleys and Joe Walsh songs from their solo careers. It's the way a conert should be no backup band a 20 minute intermission and just song after song after song. It was about 3 hours start to finish.
Joe Walsh looked the most weather beaten. He can still play a great riff just not as often. Don Henley's voice is still the same as it was 30 years ago. Glen Fry sounded good but you could tell on some of the songs he did not have the range he once had. Timothy Schmit can still hit the high notes and I would say he looks the most like he did 20 years ago.
I did not bring any camera gear as I just wanted to enjoy the concert. I did have my cell phone and this was a good as it got for pictures. I did see some big ass 300 primes on monopods on the floor though..ohhh to have a press pass. However the memories of seeing what could be the Eagles last concert tour was well pricess
