Keh.com repairs?

Just wondering if anyone's ever gone to these guys, ...I know there's a good Pentax guy everyone knows about, but this is for one of my Canons, that's a bit overdue for a tuneup. There's an outfit I used to go to in Boston, but they tend to be busy and get top dollars. Also, KEH is more local right now and I feel better about potentially being able to deal in person if necessary.

Any experiences?

First, email Eric, referring to PentaxForums (he's a member) and ask for a referral (he may take the work himself).

Eric Hendrickson - Pentax Camera Service contact info

I have no experience at KEH, but . . .

My local repair shop ruined the focusing screen on an MESuper cleaning bumper foam bits off with a solvent. It is a sentimental camera, so I sent it here more for restoration than a tune up. I used them until found Eric -

Scroll down to the levels of service, from a CLA to a full tear down and restoration.

Thanks, Monochrome. Though I thought Eric's practice was limited to Pentaxes? (I've got him bookmarked already, for if I come by just the Pentax film body I decide to really do up right. ) I'll ask if he knows anyone he can vouch for, though.

The Abiline place apparently won't do the F-1N, so they're out for this job, I'm afraid, though I've been considering them for a rebuild of my trusty FTbn at some indeterminate point.

Keh's kind of a big outfit, but they're fairly local, being something I find a bit reassuring, hence the particular interest. I can always send the ol' gal to Boston, but they aren't the cheapest and often are busy.

F1/F1n - the only non-Pentax camera bodies after which I lust - and I won't succumb out of fear of the associated S.S.C/FD lens lust.

As it is I'm trying to rationalize my equipment to an eclectic hobbyist level. Just Hold a Pentax doesn't cut it any more.

I have dealt with KEH in the past. They did good work and gave me a quote up front. The do charge a minimum which goes towards the overall cost. Since they are local to you, they would be a good option for non pentax stuff or at least the stuff they do. I'm not home now and won't be until Wed, but I have another good repair service book marked but my brain is vapor locked at the moment.

Thanks, Blue. ...I'm guessing I'm not in undue haste, here.

And, hee, Monochrome. (for Canonspeak notation, the F-1-capital N is the 'New F-1,' with the hybrid shutter, whereas F-1 small-n is the update to the original, but still mechanical one. The small-n one, the Abilene place will in fact do, (I suppose, unless they actually don't have that distinction down) but I have the other.

Pentax I would send to Erik. Those sites including KEH and Abilene is where I would send non-pentax. The 2 Jersey sites I'd consider for Mamiya vintage cameras.
