Do you request Pentax lenses for your eyeglasses?

when i was getting my new pair, i jokingly asked how much it would cost to put camera grade glass into my eyeglasses. example like Pentax, Nikon, Zeiss and Hoya as well as the (usually used for camera) lens coatings. The numbers on the calculator could get a Limited lens.

so to ask, is there anyone who actually uses camera grade lens for their eyeglasses or at least the standard grade from Zeiss, Nikon, Pentax and etc?

If Leica was also in the business, would you buy?

**btw, i got CR-39 as not economical to use such high grade and expensive glass for fieldwork. I heard Nikon is the best in this field.

I do seem to recall that zeiss do make lenses for eyeglasses, i'm not sure about nikon but I wouldn't be surprised if they were in this field too. Pentax used to..Leica did too at one point....but they got more business as a microscope maker.

I own a zeiss targeting scope for my rifle, my brothers think it's hilarious. since I'm the most accurate in my family, my brothers soon had their smiles wiped off their faces. My eldest brother actually bought one too.

The link to the Pentax Eye glasses shows the frames that are available and they are nice frames. I did notice that the add said they use only the best lenses and coatings Pentax has available. The cost of the frames is reasonable, so yes I think I might try a pair the next time I buy glasses.

My only question would be do they come with Shake Reduction.

My optician here in the UK uses Pentax lenses as standard:
Lens options - Specsavers Opticians - Designer Glasses, Sunglasses, Contact Lenses & Eyecare.
The microfibre cleaning cloths they give away even have the pentax logo plastered all over them.

The lenses aren't likely to be camera grade though.

I have Hoyas in my current pair, the previous had Zeiss. The Hoyas have the multicoated green flare familiar from Pentax lenses

I also use Nikon optics in my eyewear. They are far superior to my previous pair.

I wouldn't get Pentax ones - too slow to focus! (and not enough frames of course!)

I wonder if my insurance would cover it if I ordered a pair of glasses with a pair of 43mm limited 'lenses' framed? What a great idea, free limiteds!

Except, I should probably get the 31ltd + 43ltd framed - I have a slight astigmatism.
