I had a Panasonic G1, the IQ was great, right up there with the XSi. ISO was just fine at 1600, zero complaints other than the small body. Also, 2 native lenses at the time. There is a 7-14mm f/4 coming out but, it'll cost a small fortune. The EVF is fantastic at 1.4 million pixels not close to a nice pentaprism though and it sucks battery life like mad. I got about 250 shots per charge. Not a system worth investing into imho.
Back on topic, the Oly system is nice, in-body IS like Pentax. The 620 has an even newer version of the 4/3 sensor than the G1 does.
G1 with a Canon FD 50mm f/1.2 attached via a Rayqual m4/3 to FD adapter;
f/8.0, 1/400, 100 ISO
