I just wonder how many of us were doubters, till the first note was sung.

#Has anybody heard the singing of Faryl Smith (12 years old) on the same show. Even more remarkable. I would love to put it on here, but cant find it. PS Just found this :

This is one of Faryl. Remember 12 years old, believe it or not.

Hope I am not seen to be hijacking your thread, Ben

Not just a lovely voice, but a lovely lady. Thank you, Ben, for bringing her to our attention.

Richard.

I guess Im the odd man out here. Dont get me wrong, she is insanely talented, and I am overjoyed that she is getting respect and attention for her talent that she deserves but I honestly dont care for her voice. I do however understand the shutters, shivers and tears that beautiful voices can bring. The first time I ever heard the group Celtic Woman I nearly fainted, no joke. Listening to them wether recorded or live, could make even an atheist wonder if such talent was created by god. Each and every one of these women are among the greatest vocalists I have ever heard. and this isn't some studio tricks. I have seen them live and it is just as or even more powerful than any of the recordings. For anyone who has never heard them I suggest purchasing a CD. Official Homepage of the Celtic Woman Show I am going to see them for the third time here in Savannah on June 1.

You're not the only one. I also don't care for the cynically manipulative programme she was on... never seen it before but this clip used every trick in the book. They pretend to be after the "deeper" person, but didn't respect her enough to simply shut up and let her sing -- we had to have comments overlaid before she finished her first phrase. Just so we react in the way we're supposed to and think what we're supposed to think.

Me, I've been moved to tears by sean-nós singing, Bulgarian folk music and Dead Can Dance, all of which I've had the joy of seeing live, not edited to pieces on television.

I have actually had the pleasure of hearing some sean-nós live in an intimate setting on a few occasions myself here in Savannah. Gaelic is a beautiful language.

Ben,

Thanks for sharing this.
It's really touching.
So true that how often we all look only at the appearance only.
News like this needs to be shared and the world will be a little bit better :ugh:

BTW, who is the winner? Paul or Susan?
Or are they from different season?

Beauty is only skin deep. Ugly goes to the bone.

This has nothing to do with this post. I have just always wanted to say that.
