Share your good deals!!

Hello Folks!!

I know a lot of people here have been made some incredible deals )on ebay, secound hand market ect ect), and they have not been too shy to share it

Yelous eyes have been looked at this posts, so why don't share all those deals in one Thread insteed?

Comeon guys and girls, who got the best pentax deal ever? (free don't count!)

and sigma, tamron ect ect? don't know. They are not a pentax deal but it could be a good deal anyway...so I say: in that case, how you want.

ok, Im first out!

FA macro 50mm (pentax sharpest lens ever?)
FA telezoom 80-320mm
FA standardzoom 28-70mm
Pentax MZ5n
Hoya Polarfilter

Everything in superb mint cond. (I don't mean ebay-mint. I mean Mint! )

I paid:
100$

Good deal?

Who is next in line?

Hi Emil,
Well I'll play.

I cant match your buy, but I did get a pleasant surprise after one purchase.
After a fairly 'long' lunch in Hong Kong with my son we were "walking" back along Stanley St where my son wanted to get a flash for his Nikon.
While he was buying his flash I noticed a Tokina box on the shelf (in this predominatley Nikon shop) with the magic word "Pentax".

It was a 20-35 f2.8. (ATX Pro 235 f2.8) I asked the price, (and remember we were on the other side of that long lunch), and I countered with a ridiculously low price which worked out to approx $160 aussie ( I thought I had said something else somewhat higher, but hey, blame it on the fourth bottle of red!!). My son gave me a withering "dont embarass me dad" stare...which matched the look from the sales guy...who, after consulting his book, shrugged, and said ok, its the only offer I'm probably likely to get anyway.

On returning home I searched around and found that the lens retailed for over $600 here in Australia...if you could find one in captivity.

And it is a beautifully made lens, and optically excellent.

Look forward to more stories.

Cheers.

Wonderful shared!

It sounded like an exellent buy, to tell you the true.
I laught a lot at your story too.
"dont embarass me dad" hahaha

But as I can see 160$ comparing to 600$ seams like one hell of a deal!

Congrats, and we looking forward too more stories

It's not Pentax gear, but about a week ago, I picked up a Gossen Luna Pro F light meter in near mint condition for $5.

Most of my gear has been aquired in this manner. I got my K20d brand new for $550. The 50-135mm came in looking brand new for $520. I used the "make an offer" function to get my 43mm Limited for $300. Right now, I'm waiting on the mail man to deliver my $450 77mm limited. I should also mention the $5 SMC 50 F/2 from a local pawn shop. It was rattling so the owner dropped the price from $20. I bought it to mainly have a lens to take apart ( I love to see what's inside things). When I opened it up, the front set of elements had come unscrewed was the only problem. It's now taking great shots.

Best snag for me was stumbling on a customer return on a new-in-box AF540FGZ on Amazon for $138.

This thread makes me jealous...

I never have the patience to wait for good deals. I have lost numerous times different auctions last minute since I thought my bet was settled. I now tend to pay more and keep my nerves...

Here are some of mine , two of them from right here on the forum

1.Tamron 70-200f2.8 from Jay (jsherman999) $440 shipped . Now the story behind this one was I was looking to buy a K20D from the market place. Tom (CollectriC) had one for sale but then the USD was quite strong and for the $75.00 difference I decided it was not worth it. I saw Jay's thread on the Tamron and thought what the heck I expressed interest. I recieved a reply I was third in line (my life story on bidding haha). So I went back to Tom's thread and made an offer.

Well Tom accepted the offer - kudo's to me now had a new K20D (had less than 200 clicks) for about $200 less than one would cost here. That was a pretty good deal - then Jay send me a PM - for various reasons the other two backed out and it was mine if I wanted it. I checked and that lens new here would cost $1.2k here deal ! He fully disclosed it was dunked in a lake , and the lens hood does not sit quite straight - but there is absolutely nothing wrong with the optics. The lens is stellar and one of my most used now. Jay did not charge anything else for shipping and even with the exchange rate that lens cost me less than half. Heck he even included a 77mm Tamron UV filter.

2. Franks genuine Pentax lithium batteries. New here they are $95. I bought two from him for about $70.00 Cdn. Less than half.

Of the 10 lenses I have 4 have come from the market place here and one was a birthday gift so I have done relatively well.

Oh and because of the insane DA* 50-35 ($1.7K Cdn) price increase I bought mine from a friend in the states (had him buy it for $700 USD when the Cdn dollar was almost at par) - that now qualifies as a steal. I don't count this as the price increase in Canada is just ...well stupid.

Edit: These deals are also reflective of the Country I live in but for me they count big time.

Hmmm lets see, a Carl Ziess Jena 1.8/50 Pancolar for $40 aud, another not bad buy was a Tair 11A for $23 aud, but then I'm a shocker for low bids and fluking occassional wins.

Well done folks...
Much of this deals are really fantastic...
but it also gives new arguments for costumers against retailers haha

Listen to this:

Pentax k20d
Batterygrip
Flash AF360FGZ
DA16-45 f/4
Memorycard Scandisk ultra 4gb
Extra battery (genuine)
Soligor UV Filter (67mm)

Everything brand new exept the flash and the filter that was show-ex, and superb mint cond.

I gave around 1000 $ for all together in store!!! (after a long talk with the guy in the store)

oh and a mint M 50mm 1,7f lens for 28$ quite a deal as well..

I think that was pretty good deal ?
