I admit I had to look that one up. I always identified with Bart in that episode because they sent me off for an unsuccessful stint in a gifted and talented program.

I went by the Bic Camera and saw the EP1 for myself. It's damn nice. Shutter lag is as advertised (nil) and the thing had a really nice weighty, solid feeling without being heavy. The external viewfinder is funny, I can see why they're not charging a (super) premium for it ... just a piece of glass in a box. When I got there I was ninth in line to have a look at it. There was another line for guys placing orders.

One thing in favour of both the EP1 and K7 is that they're hitting the market right in the middle of bonus season in Japan. I haven't seen Bic that crazy in a long time.

AF is faster than I thought it would be and the high ISO images are better than every DSLR except the T1i in the consumer cameras.

For those who live in Edmonton, Mcbain camera posted on the companys facebook "McBain Camera Ltd. Olympus will be bringing in demos of the new Olympus PEN E-P1 camera into McBain Camera to give you a chance to test drive it before it is released. Dates and details to be announced."

Thought I'd post it in case anyone was interested.

I like the idea, but I like the names fourthirdsforum.com, olympuspenforum.com, or m43forum.com better. You guys should pick one of those URL's up while they're still available. I like the e-p1 and all, but it will be replaced within a year, seems odd to name an entire forum after it. Especially since the forum covers all m4/3s related topics. It's kind of like the situation Apple is stuck in with the name iTunes even though music is just one aspect of it now.

I just noticed they changed that to. It wasn't like that the first time I went. That stinks. No way would I post anything there with that policy because I couldn't send interesting threads to non-members.

An interesting camera, but I came across some samples that are so bad I almost cannot believe them.

for example this shot taken in sun at iso 100. look at the face of the girl to the left, is it just me or is there more noise than my lx3.
