Congratulations on the beautiful new arrival!

No need to apologize for the photo quality either. Yours are much better than the standard "through the window" hospital shots that I took when my daughter was new.

Steve

(Would really like to see #1 as B&W...)

P.S. Strangely, back when I was in my 20s, there was a woman in my extended circle whose name was Nancy Serafin. Yes, same spelling...

Well done that man. I see the resemblance! Good luck with raising her.

Mother and baby are doing fine. All three of us are exhausted.

Sorry about the quality, she was born at home and the lighting isn't as bright as a hospital. Had to shoot wide open FA 50 f/1.4

Beautiful shot, my full congratulations! Very happy for you, your wife and this wonderful new photographic subject of yours!

Let's face it, you just did that to get 20 years of guaranteed photo opportunities.

All the best to the whole family!

Gary,

I sincerely hope you didn't find the name "Serafin" in the French Canadian old stories. In these, "Seraphin" (note the spelling difference) is an old greedy bastard who makes his wife's life miserable to accumulate more money. See more there:Séraphin: un homme et son péché (2002)

Thank you so much for all your warm words everyone. Mother and baby are doing great (although Jess is confined to bed for a few days due to tearing). At the moment, I am chief diaper changer, burper, cook, washer, washer upper, dog walker and everything else. I've been doing so much that I'm delirious and sleep is something that sneaks up on me between my duties. I'm also deliriously happy.
Got poop on your thumb yet?

Edit: If you find this > in a diaper, don't touch it!
