It's not up to the US to feed the world, in many Third world countries, locally grown food is often more expensive than that which is imported. This is due to the unfair taxes and tariffs imposed on them as conditions for aid from IMF and World Bank.
Over fifty percent of World Bank projects fail but one hundred percent of the mostly US based corporations who work on these projects still make a profit.

I'd call it an aspect of humanity.

Don't care about the workers. They will be unemployed and will more then likely remain unemployed. If that should be the case they may then wind up on welfare or food stamps. That's money out of my pocket.

Where are your real world statistics?

I can't remember where I got those figures originally but if you do a search on World Bank Project Failure rates, there are plenty of references.

If you're interested, here's a link to an interesting report from the Cato Institute The World Bank Vs. the World Poor it's from '87 but shows that this is a long standing problem.

the taxes in this country, way to go, that's big of them, very patriotic... not!
at the end of the day, corporations pay no tax at all, because all the tax is ultimately pased on to you, the consumer.

the only question is how to hide the taxes the government collects, so you don't feel taxed.

Exactly except government doesn't collect taxes. It confiscates them.

Gary, wasn't the World Bank started by governments? And basically they are a socialist organization. So basically you are saying socialism don't work.
But I already knew that.

I don't know about that, the last time I looked, my corporation/small business is paying a lot of taxes that don't get passed onto the consumer. Please let me know where your loophole is, I would be very interested in exploiting this.

Sure they get passed on. If you didn't have to pay the taxes your retail prices would be lower. But I see your point also. You could charge the same and just make more profit.

Works in a retail market, but in a professional services industry, our project rates are set by market conditions and competitors. Just an FYI, payroll taxes and corporate taxes are some of the taxes that can not be passed onto customers since the service business just does not work in this manner.

Payroll taxes are paid by the employee in reality. 1/2 of SS is borne by the company and 1/2 by the employee. Your corp taxes are based upon income. No income no taxes. So it's paid by the end user at any rate since if you had no business you wouldn't pay tax. In any way shape or form it's always the end user paying the bill. It's part of the cost of goods/services any way you look at it.

You really pay no taxes. Government confiscates your money and calls it a tax.

Let's face it. It's all a matter of semantics. I am just having a little fun with you and at your expense.
