On the topic of the DSG. That transmission is amazing. My moms new 09 Jetta SportWagen TDI has it and its absolutely phenomenal. It's 8ms shifts are faster than F1.

And the TDI engine itself is awesome. We get about 40mpg normally, but on the highway, 50 is no problem. And even being economicaly, its still tons of fun to drive as compared to a hybrid. It pulls sooo very hard. Tons of torque. Even in the TDI Cup racing series, going all out for however many laps, they get about 25mpg. We need more diesel's in the US. Europe has had them as a large part of their fleet for a long while.

My sister-in-law was down this week from up north. She was amazed at how much more expensive things are down here (food, clothing, etc.) than just outside NYC

Yeah. I could do that. My salary would be about 4x what I make in Florida. But then I have to put up with New Yorkers and snow. My point was most people think Florida is a cheap place to live. It ain't so. At one point in the housing boom hayday it was one of the most expensive.

Even McCain was spouting about the "Global Warming" garbage. And that ticked me off about him. But he was still the lesser of 2 evils. We need real conservatives not the RINOs.

Two big parties make it look like the public has some control, and then whoever gets put in office just continues carrying out the agendas of our nation's big financial institutions. I mean, look at what Obama promised as opposed to what he's actually done. It seems as if many of Obama's actual actions are more like what us Obama-voters expected would have happened if McCain had been elected... I count myself as disillusioned from the "liberal" camp (never had much stock in it anyways) but that certainly doesn't line me up as a disciple of the current "conservative" group.

The lesser of two evils just depended on which side of the fence you were on. Whether you went 1 inch left or right. I am no longer a Republican. My party left me. I am a conservative. Always have been always will be. And if the Repubics ever get their fannies in gear I will call myself a Republican again. But not till they get back on track.
